Robyn Sharp

Robyn Sharp - Cedar Ridge Studio

Since graduating from the National Art School in the '70's, I have taught art in both public and private schools in Sydney and California. I have exhibited in numerous galleries in Sydney, the South coast, California, Toronto and London.

I most recently was a finalist in the  Mosman Art Prize in 2015, and I show with the Sculptors Society of Australia.

Specializing in Oriental art, especially Chinese and Japanese, my range of reference broadened enormously after working in different countries, visiting galleries and museums on four continents.

I enjoy many mediums and styles, but particularly ceramics and sculpture. Sculpting in clay and carving in stone, I prepare by sketching, drawing and painting.

My work has always been an expression of the beauty of the human form and my drawings are inspired by what I see around me: the rainforest, beach and coastline, escarpment and the ever changing skies. South Coast Landscapes: escarpment, valley, beaches coastline, rivers & rainforest.

I hope to give pleasure and prompt calm reflection and insight in others through these pieces.
