The Art of Helen Pain
Retirement gave Helen the opportunity to resume her life-long interest in Art. She studied with watercolourist Julie Goldspink, and has attended many workshops led by well known contemporary artists. She has won various awards, including the Open section of the 2009 Hastings Fine Art Exhibition.
After a recent move to Kiama, Helen quickly sought involvement in the local Arts Community. She has joined the Kiama and Shoalhaven Art Associations, and is excited to be a part of the Kiama Arts Trail. Helen’s work can be viewed at her home gallery, and at Muir Cottage in Berry, and she is actively seeking other avenues to display her work in the Illawarra and Shoalhaven regions.
Helen describes her work as impressionistic and intuitive. “I love to experiment. I begin with a subject or an idea, but the paint and the mood dictate how the work evolves”.
